While the North's sleep peacefully in their Greenwich village apartment, two men are working feverishly in a warehouse on the east side, just before dawn. One of them holds a flashlight, while the other tries to prise the hinges off a heavy safe. They're a mismatched pair - one being a hardened old criminal, and the other a young, nervous kid. When they hear a watchman coming towards them, the younger hits him as he comes through the door. Injured, but not fatally, the young kid follows instructions to work fast, and get back to their getaway vehicle. What he doesn't know, is that when he's gone, the older of the two finishes the watchman off...
