Tune in for Valentine romance, Jack Benny laughs, and a salute to Lincoln

Written by Ned Norris

Valentine’s week is here, and February’s full of red‑letter dates—so I’ve lined up some perfect listening on RUSC.

First up, romance. I’ve just queued a brand-new Romantic Radio station, streaming 24/7 with classic love stories, sparkling comedies, and tender dramas—ideal for a candlelit dinner or a cozy night in. You’ll find it under the RUSC Radio link on the left menu in RUSC.

Speaking of hearts, February 14 is also Jack Benny’s birthday. Nobody did timing like Jack. If you want a perfect starting point, spin up “Jack Turns 40,” where Jack makes sure everyone remembers his big day—ever so subtly, of course. And while you’re at it, test your Benny know-how with the Jack Benny quiz on RUSC. See how you score on his career, his crew, and that legendary stinginess.

For Abraham Lincoln’s birthday (February 12, 1809), I’ve featured three shows today:

- Life With Luigi: Abraham Lincoln Letter — An ordinary desk hides a letter signed “A. Lincoln.” Could it be the Abraham Lincoln?
- Minnesota School on the Air: A Small Tribute to Abe Lincoln — Townsfolk weigh how best to honor a beloved leader.
- Bill Stern Sports Newsreel: Abe Lincoln Mentioned — About five minutes in, an intriguing story on how John Gully encouraged a wrestler to head into politics over the slavery question.

Enjoy those for now, and on Monday keep an ear out for a new Presidents’ Day article from me.

Happy listening, my friends,
