RUSC MAILING
Written by Ned Norris
I hope that you are enjoying the latest episodes of Bradbury Thirteen added to RUSC this last week, I certainly have been. So much so that next week I am going to highlight some other series that have featured his stories, such as Suspense and Escape, so look out for that.
However, I recently delved into the history of a remarkable radio series, "Captains of Industry," which aired from 1933 to 1952, and wanted to share it with you. It’s a show that captured the spirit of its time, when folks were yearning for hope amid the Great Depression.
Imagine tuning in to hear the inspiring stories of America’s business titans just when the nation needed it most. Each episode serves as a vibrant reminder of how entrepreneurs and visionaries turned challenges into triumphs. The way the talented cast brought these larger-than-life characters down to earth was nothing short of magic, providing both aspiration and connection during a time of great struggle.
Over the years, this series has become more than just entertainment; it’s a fascinating snapshot of America's relationship with ambition and wealth. With 52 episodes available, “Captains of Industry” allows us to reflect on our own journeys and perhaps see echoes of our contemporary challenges.
I encourage you to take a listen on the RUSC website. I’m learning so much, and I think you will, too!
Warm regards,
RUSC Old Time
